Reinforced cement concrete (R.C.C.) pipes popularly known as "Hume pipes" was discovered by "sir waltes hume at Australia. These pipes are produced by Centrifugal spinning process. Testing of RCC Pipes
The quality of RCC pipes is determined by the Hydraulic Pressure Test and the Three Edge Bearing Test
Hydraulic Pressure Test
This test is conductted by applying water pressure from a pump to the pipe covered on all sides to find how much pressure the pipe withstands before it leaks. The pipe quality is approved if the tested pressure is compatible with the ISI specifications.
Three Edge Bearing Test
This test is conducted by applying load on the pipe through a jack until the pipe gets cracked. The pipe passes the test if the load conditions specified as per the IS specification are satisfied.
